Not Coffee / Coffee Substitute
No coffee! YAY!
This combination of herbs contains everything you need to get your body moving, clear brain fog and promote daily health! AND IT'S EASY! You can use it just like coffee - no need to trash your coffee machine! One method of brewing is to scoop "NOT COFFEE" into the coffee maker and push the start button, or brew it in a French press or as a pour over. Then sweeten as you would normally do your coffee.
I do prefer the tea method of brewing though, as I feel it makes a heartier, darker, and bolder cup. Use boiling or just off boil water, and steep it for approximately 5-7 minutes.
Ratio being: 1 tablespoon herbs to 1-2 cups of water.
Roasted Chicory- Gives this recipe its roasted coffee flavor. The inulin in Chicory root is a prebiotic soluble fiber, which stimulates the growth of beneficial gut bacteria while decreasing other germs and bacteria in the intestines. It also contains vitamin C & B6, manganese, potassium, folate and phosphorus. And is considered to help with brain health, gut health, aid in weight loss and reduce inflammation in the body.
Yerba mate- Is the caffeine culprit in this recipe. However it only contains bout 70mg of caffeine per cup. It contains Vitamin C, magnesium and zinc. It has been helpful to decrease chronic fatigue syndrome, brain fog and inflammation. And is used in weight loss, heart health and to improve energy and focus.
Organic Tulsi Leaf (Holy Basil)- Is used here for poor memory, attention deficit disorder (ADD), and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) because of its ability to enhance cerebral circulation. By moving stuck energy in the energetic nervous system, tulsi "lifts" depression, uplifting and opening the heart for better emotional expression and connection with others. Tulsi also helps heart health by enhancing healthy circulation, reducing cardiovascular stress both physically and via its adaptogenic actions.
Turmeric- We all have heard of Turmeric's anti-inflammatory properties. This not only helps with inflammation in the body, but also in the brain. By relieving inflammation in the brain and allowing your channels to flow more freely.
Peppercorn- is The turmeric root's ally. It helps bring the properties of turmeric into your system.
Cinnamon- is included for extra flavor and gut health.
