Our 2 Inch Teacup Mesh Ball Tea Infusers are made from 18/8 Grade Stainless Steel, with a Polyresin ornament for the fob. While the fob is there to hang over the side of the cup and not allow the infuser chain to fall inside into the tea, they are also collected by many tea drinkers. This is why we offer different fob/tea ornament choices.
18/8 Grade Stainless Steel, is used in the highest quality food grade cutlery and other kitchen equipment. Our supplier puts all their tea accessories through rigorous testing. For infusers and other metal products, they test them over a 3 hour process for discoloration and staining. Seems like a short time frame, but with the solution they use, the time frame accelerates the process, and if there is any discoloration, then the shipment is rejected as unacceptable.
