Country of Origin: India
Notes:
Darjeeling is a tea from the region of Darjeeling in West Bengal, India. After the monsoon in late summer the autumnal tea leaves are picked. This is the result: a mild, delicately flowery tea from the well-established Margaret's Hope garden that unites fresh green tea shoots with brownish autumn colored tea leaves. This gives this tea a delicate "muscatel" (wine grape like) characteristic. Monsoon Harvest Darjeeling is a pleasant aromatic tea graded a FTGFOP1 Darjeeling. The well-made tippy leaf provides convincing evidence of this teas high quality.
Our Monsoon Harvest Darjeeling is smaller in leaf size yielding a stronger brew. It has excellent musky characteristics as the name ‘muscatel’ suggests. Apart from the ‘musk’ character, it is sweet smelling which also tends to be layered by complex fruity and flowery aromas. Its also malty or chocolaty. Monsoon Harvest brews a beautiful coppery infusion which is a combination of dark brown and chocolate colors. The infusion has a sweet nose that is also chocolaty in nature, sugary and musky. It is also high on fruity and flowery notes. A dark full bodied coppery infusion which is somewhat slightly smoky. The cup is smooth and the taste can be described as being quite buttery, sweet, slightly astringent, with an overwhelming nutty character. It also has some fruity and flowery taste.
An excellent and affordable Darjeeling tea from Margaret’s Hope garden. A classic Darjeeling which you should be tasting along side our other varieties. A tea which you can offer or share with your family and friends. We believe that they will like it.
